What Makes a Bike Bag Waterproof

Bike bags get rain from above and spray from the wheels, so fabric alone is not enough. Look for TPU or PVC fabrics with welded seams, roll-top or waterproof zip closures, and mounting straps that do not pierce the waterproof shell. Placement matters too: handlebar bags carry light, bulky items such as a sleeping bag, frame bags carry heavy items low and centred, and seat bags hold clothes and spares behind the saddle.

Every order passes through incoming material inspection (IQC), in-process checks during welding and sewing (IPQC) and final inspection (OQC), with SGS or QIMA third-party inspection available on request. Our test programme covers seam tensile and bonding strength, load testing of 1,500+ cycles, zipper testing to 3,000 cycles, salt spray on hardware, abrasion, and colour fastness and colour difference against the approved sample. Waterproof ratings are verified on the bag itself: a heavy rain and water-jet test for IPX5 and IPX6 models and a full water-immersion test of 2+ hours for IPX7 and IPX8 models.
